AZ-DROG® is a broad spectrum antimicrobial whose active principle is azithromycin, a modern synthetic macrolide with a 15-atom ring, with pharmacokinetic characteristics that allow its administration in a single daily dose and shorten treatment cycles due to its excellent oral absorption, wide distribution and high intracellular penetration, concentrating on fibroblasts and phagocytes. As a result, tissue concentrations are higher than plasma concentrations and have a longer half-life, which is an advantage in veterinary treatments due to its broad spectrum of action against sensitive Gram-positive and negative bacteria, and mycoplasmas. It is not metabolized, being eliminated mainly through the feces and a small part through the urinary tract.
AZ-DROG® is indicated for the control and treatment of respiratory tract infections and digestive problems sensitive to azithromycin.
