PROPERTIES

CEFTIDROG® is a powerful broad spectrum antibiotic, whose active principle is a semisynthetic third-generation cephalosporin, derived from the fungus Cephalosporum acremonium. Acts on Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria; including those producing beta-lactamases.

INDICATIONS

CEFTIDROG® is indicated for infections of the respiratory, urinary, bone, skin and soft tissue systems, associated with susceptible microorganisms. Cases of shipment fever, pneumonias, pododermatitis, acute metritis, mastitis; and for the reduction of early mortality in chicks or baby poultry. It is indicated for the treatment, according to the species to which it is destined: Chickens and turkeys: For the reduction of early mortality in 1-day-old chicks or poults (colibacillary and staphylococcal infections), associated with E. coli strains sensitive to Ceftiofur. Cattle: Bovine respiratory infection (shipping fever, pneumonia), associated with Pasteurella multocida, Haemophillus somnus, Corynebacterium pyogenes, Mannheimia haemolytica serotype A-1, Mycoplasma spp., Actinomyces pyogenes, Salmonella spp., E. coli, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Staphylococcus aureus and Ureaplasma diversum. In pododermatitis associated with Fusobacterium necrophorum and Bacteroides melaninogenicus. Useful in the treatment of acute metritis and mastitis. Sheep and goats: Respiratory infections (pneumonia), produced by susceptible microorganisms, Pasteurella haemolytica and Pasteurella multocida. It is also useful for the treatment of coliform mastitis. Porcine: Swine bacterial respiratory disease (porcine bacterial pneumonia) associated with Actinobacillus (Haemophillus) pleuropneumoniae, Pasteurella multocida, Salmonella choleraesuis and Streptococcus suis. Horses: Respiratory infectious diseases of horses associated with Streptococcus zooepidemicus. Also against Pasteurella spp., Streptococcus equi, Streptococcus equisimilis, Actinobacillus spp. and Moraxella spp., main pathogens in respiratory infections in horses. Canines: Infections of the urinary tract in canines associated with E. coli, Proteus mirabilis and Staphylococcus aureus. To treat susceptible infections of the skeletal system, respiratory tract, skin and soft tissue. Felines: Infections of the urinary tract, bone system, respiratory system, skin and soft tissue. Chickens and turkeys: For the reduction of early mortality in 1-day-old chicks or poults (colibacillary and staphylococcal infections), associated with E. coli strains sensitive to Ceftiofur.
