HEAT PLUS® is constituted by the association of two powerful antibacterial agents and a mucolytic expectorant. The synergistic action of sulfamonomethoxine with trimethoprim has provided a significant dimension to the treatment with sulfonamides and to which bromhexine has been added, whose therapeutic action is immediate, facilitating the action of antibiotics. Sulfamonometoxin acts by blocking the synthesis of dihydrofolic acid and trimethoprim inhibits the enzyme hydrate reductase to prevent the formation of tetrahydrofolic acid (folinic acid) which is necessary for the synthesis of bacterial DNA.
